The Anthropic Pre-IPO Trap: How to Spot Fake Investment Opportunities
Big IPO headlines can bring out impostors offering supposedly exclusive shares. A polished website, a familiar logo or a social-media endorsement does not establish ownership of shares or authorization to sell them.
Red flags to watch
Guaranteed profits, urgent wire transfers, crypto-wallet payment instructions, promises to bypass transfer restrictions and refusal to identify the registered brokerage are reasons to stop.
What about private-share vehicles?
Some private securities transactions and special-purpose vehicles can be legitimate, but they carry substantial risks, restrictions and fees. An SPV does not automatically prove valid access to Anthropic shares. Check Anthropic's warning about unauthorized stock sales.
Verify independently
Consult SEC EDGAR, FINRA BrokerCheck and the broker's official website. Confirm that the particular offering is available through the firm. For official brokerage links, see our IPO access guide.
